Dog Grooming

Dog Grooming

Grooming is essential. There are many skin conditions, ear conditions, and infections that can come about without the proper treatment and proper grooming techniques.

So grooming is vital to a lot of different breeds' success in having a healthy life.

From a veterinarian's perspective, if we regularly groom, we have fewer broken nails, ear infections, and skin diseases in terms of infections from matting.

Proper grooming can improve the health of your dog overall.

When do I start?

We are trained to handle puppy cuts!

We do recommend bringing them in as soon as possible to simply bathe them, clean their ears, or even trim their face, feet, and butts to help them get familiar with the grooming process. The sooner the better. Nail trims are vital, so you want to get them used to that and decrease the unlikeness of them reacting badly to those things.

Please check with your vet to be sure your fur baby is ready for their first haircut with the proper vaccinations.

Baths and Deshedding

As you bathe your dog, this acts as a time to take a close look at your dog to check to see if they're healthy. During their bath, we make sure to check their ears, teeth, nails, and skin to see if there is redness or anything abnormal. We also use this time to check for fleas, mites, or lice that way you can get these issues taken care of quickly. Our front desk staff will update you on their evaluation at the time of pick-up.

By bathing your dog and using a nice moisturizing dog shampoo it helps keep your dog's coat nice and soft.

Furthermore the more often you bathe your dog, the less they are going to shed. If you are getting tired of vacuuming and picking up clumps of hair from your dog every day, a frequent bath followed by brushing your dog will help grab those loose hairs.

To better help remove the undercoat we offer de-shedding shampoo called The Coat Handler Undercoat Control deShedding Dog Shampoo pair this with a blowout and the furminator for the ultimate hair reduction!
